A very exhausted Nokomis Redskin basketball team were the guests of honor today as "the voice of the
Redskins" Terry Todt and a packed Nokomis High School gymnasium welcomed home their 2008 IHSA
2nd place winners. Nokomis defeated Warrensburg-Latham 36-33 on Friday to earn their spot in the big
dance, the state championship game on Saturday. After a well fought battle to a very fast paced St.
Anne, Nokomis took home the 2nd place trophy with a final score of 61-67.

Coach’s Kid Kimbro Learned At School Of Hard Knocks

The boys basketball practices overseen by Nokomis High School coach Steve Kimbro are not fun and games.
His son, current Nokomis senior forward Wade Kimbro, got a preview of things to come four years ago.
You might say the younger Kimbro had an advantage as his father gave him a head start on what it takes to
become a varsity player at Nokomis. But he quickly learned what hard work really meant. [Full Story]
